Remix Clarity™ · Virtual · Anywhere

One clear plan for your actual house, budget and life.

You send photos of your real rooms and answer a questionnaire. About a week later you get back a plan that says what to do first, what can wait, and what it'll cost — for your house, with its odd walls and its real budget.

No calls. No in-home visit. Nothing on your calendar.

$444, one time. Your plan comes back in about a week from the day your questionnaire is done.

Let's start where you are

You are not short on ideas. You have too many, and none of them fit.

Here is roughly what's happening at ten o'clock at night with the laptop open.

  • 1

There's a list. The kitchen, a mudroom, a guest space, a bonus room for the kids, that vanity that's falling apart. Every one of them feels like it would eat the whole budget, so none of them starts.

  • 2

You have saved hundreds of pictures of other people's houses. Yours has a pass-through, a window in the wrong place, and a wall that isn't where the picture says it should be.

  • 3

You asked an AI to show you what it could look like, and it gave you a beautiful picture in about nine seconds. It never asked what your hallway is doing, and it will not be there when the cabinets arrive.

  • 4

You and your partner have had the same conversation about the layout four times and it ends in the same place.

  • 5

Underneath all of it, one question: am I going to spend my hard-earned money correctly? It feels like there's a right way and a wrong way, and you can't tell which one you're about to pick.

Not one of those is a personality flaw. Every one of them is a planning problem.

Stuck on your house?
Let's design a plan.

Think of me as a coach. I don't hand you my style. I help you find yours.

How it works

The Two-Design Remix™ Method

Most design advice hands you one answer and asks you to trust it. This hands you three, and lets you see why the third one won.

1

We look at the budget version.

What the practical, right-now plan looks like, built mostly from what you already own. Not the sad version. The resourceful one.

2

We look at the dream version.

The no-limits one. Not to tease you. Because what you reach for when nothing is stopping you tells me what actually matters to you, and that's the part I need.

3

Then we remix them.

One plan, built from the pieces of each that were worth it for your family, your house, and the budget you have right now.

Budget version of Lexie's Scandinavian modern farmhouse kitchen in Sunderland, Massachusetts — existing sage cabinets kept and repainted, marble-look counters, a simple wood-topped island.
1

The budget version

Keep the cabinets and repaint them. New counters. A simple island. The louvered pantry doors stay.

Dream version of the same kitchen — new cabinet fronts with brass pulls, tile backsplash, a black stone island seating three, pendant lighting and full pantry cabinetry.
2

The dream version

New fronts, brass pulls, tile to the uppers, stone on the island, seating for three, real pantry cabinetry.

The remix — original cabinets painted sage with brass pulls, upper cabinets replaced by open wood shelving on a shiplap wall, and a butcher-block island with seating.
3

The remix

Cabinets stay, painted, with the brass pulls from the dream. Uppers come off for open shelving and shiplap. Butcher block instead of stone.

Lexie's kitchen in Sunderland, Massachusetts. A case study showing how the method works — Remix Clarity™ delivers a written plan and a video walkthrough, not custom 3D renderings.

The part most people never see

Why the remix went the way it did.

The dream version had one thing Lexie genuinely wanted and one thing she didn't know she was paying for.

What she wanted was light and the feeling of more room. What was quietly costing her was the bank of upper cabinets — the single most expensive line in that kitchen, and the reason the room read closed.

So the remix took the uppers off entirely. Open shelving and shiplap instead. That one decision bought the brightness of the dream version and removed the biggest number on the estimate at the same time.

The cabinets she already had stayed, painted, with the brass pulls she liked from the dream. The stone island became butcher block. Nobody walking into that room could tell you which parts were the compromise.

That's the whole job. Not picking the cheap one. Working out which expensive things were actually buying you something.

More of the same project. Renderings are how I explore options for one-on-one clients — they are not part of what Remix Clarity™ delivers.

A second one, 2,000 miles away

Cassie asked where the TV should go. That was the wrong question.

Her living room is an odd shape with no real wall to mount a television. She and her husband had been stuck on it for years.

The question she brought me was where to put the TV. The question underneath it — the one she'd stopped saying out loud — was how to have a television and keep the open sightline through to the kitchen, because that sightline was the reason they bought the house.

Once the question changed, the room solved itself. A custom lift cabinet: TV up when they want it, gone when they don't, sightline intact either way.

I have never been in that room. Cassie is in Denver. The whole thing was done from photographs and a questionnaire.

“
Our living room is an odd shape, with no real walls to mount a TV, so we struggled to design a fully functional space for years before working with Susie. She quickly found a solution we would have never been able to come up with on our own. We love our living room!

The lift cabinet was custom design work from the one-on-one tier. What Remix Clarity™ gives you is the part that came first — changing the question.

What's in your plan

Eight pieces, and every one of them is a decision you no longer have to make alone.

1

Your Remix Decision Summary

The whole thing on one page. What we decided, and why it beat the other two versions.

2

Your budget, dream and remix

All three laid out side by side, so you can see what each one costs you and what each one buys.

3

A priority roadmap

First versus later, in order. The thing you asked for at the top isn't always the thing that goes first.

4

Layout guidance

Where things should go and why, for your actual rooms. Strategic, not a scaled drawing.

5

A project sequencing plan

What has to happen before what, so you don't pay twice to undo something.

6

Product direction

Categories and characteristics to shop for. Not a shopping list with links — the criteria, so you can buy well anywhere.

7

Inspiration snapshots

Images that match the direction we chose, so you and your contractor are looking at the same thing.

8

A video walkthrough

Me, talking you through the whole plan in your own rooms. Watch it at 11pm in your pajamas. Rewatch it in six months.

Let's make sure we're a fit

This works beautifully for some people and not at all for others.

You'll get a lot out of this if…

  • You have more projects than budget and you want the order of operations.
  • Your house has quirks that make generic inspiration useless.
  • You want to understand the tradeoffs, not be handed one answer.
  • You believe pretty is a byproduct of a home that works, not the point of it.
  • You'd rather spend $444 deciding than $10,000 guessing.
  • You're willing to sit down for an hour with photos and a questionnaire.

Give this a miss if…

  • You want someone to tell you the one correct, expensive, magazine answer.
  • You want full-service decorating — sourcing, ordering, installing, styling.
  • You need drawings or elevations . That's the one-on-one tier.
  • You want final 3D renderings of your rooms. That's the one-on-one tier.
  • You'd rather skip the plan and start buying things.
  • You want me on the phone. There are no calls in this, by design.

We had lots of ideas but weren't sure what would actually work best for our home and budget. Susie helped us look at different options, understand the tradeoffs, and create a plan that felt both practical and achievable. We left feeling confident about our decisions instead of second-guessing them.

Susie helped us narrow down a direction quickly by showing us multiple options and explaining the tradeoffs. It saved time, reduced second-guessing, and helped us move forward with a plan we felt really good about.

Who's making your plan

I learned houses the hard way, which is why I can explain them.

I've been sanding, painting, cutting and demo-ing since I was fourteen — earlier, really — on remodels beside my dad, a master carpenter. Then a degree in Construction Science, and more than 150 kitchens and 50 bathrooms designed professionally before I ever hung out my own sign.

None of it came naturally. I had to consciously learn every piece of it, which turned out to be the useful part: I can take it apart and hand it to you step by step, because I had to assemble it that way myself.

I've also lived it. An 800-square-foot house where the king bed technically fit, on the one wall it could go on, next to the odd window. A dream house that overwhelmed me more than the small one did. A historic farmhouse we turned into a place that sleeps eighteen.

What I know from all of it: you're still wayfinding. You're just wayfinding with someone who's done it before you.

The real math

$444 is what it costs to stop guessing.

$55
per deliverable, eight of them

That's the arithmetic. Here's the comparison that actually matters: one wrong cabinet order, one wall opened that didn't need to be, one room finished in the wrong sequence — any of those costs multiples of this, and you look at it every day.

Honest answers

What people ask before they book.

Including the ones that might talk you out of it.

Do I get 3D renderings?

No. You get a written plan, layout guidance and a video walkthrough — not contractor-ready drawings, elevations or final renderings. The renderings on this page are from one-on-one projects, shown so you can see how the method thinks. I'd rather tell you that now than have you open your plan expecting pictures.

Do we have to get on a call?

Not one. No Zoom, no phone. You send photos and fill out the questionnaire whenever suits you, and the plan comes back with a recorded walkthrough. Anything you want to ask afterwards, we handle by message within two business days.

How long does it take?

About a week from the day your photos and questionnaire are complete. You'll hear from me within one business day of ordering with the portal and the questions. There's no appointment to wait for, because there's no appointment.

Why can't I just figure this out myself?

You might. But you're standing inside the problem, and that's the hardest place to see it from. One client was about to finish a basement for a guest room and a bonus room. She already had a large unused space near her entry that did both. She'd walked past it for years.

Does this work if you've never seen my house?

Yes — that's how nearly all of it is done. Cassie's living room is in Denver and I've never stood in it. What I need isn't to be there, it's the right information: photographs from the angles I ask for, measurements, and honest answers about how your family actually uses the space.

Do I need a big budget?

No. The best solution is rarely the most expensive one, and your plan starts with what you already own. My fee is the same whether you're spending $10,000 or $50,000, so I have no reason to point you at the pricier option.

One room or the whole house?

Either. Your budget version, dream version and remix can cover one room that's driving you crazy or every project on your list. The kitchen on this page was one room in a plan that also solved a laundry room, a hallway and an unused space by the front door. Bringing the whole list is honestly where this earns its keep, because the order things happen in is the expensive part to get wrong.

What if my layout is strange?

Then you're exactly who this is built for. Odd walls, pass-throughs, windows in the wrong places — constraints are what make a design specific to you instead of generic. The obstacle is usually the way.

Why not just use AI?

Use it, honestly. It's fast and the pictures are lovely. But it answers the question you asked. It has never seen your house, it can't tell you the real problem is the hallway, and nothing happens to it if it's wrong.

What's the refund policy?

All sales are final once work has begun, which is why the terms are linked above the button rather than after it. There are no revision rounds — there's one round of clarification questions once you've read your plan.

You don't have to keep carrying the whole list in your head.

One plan. Your actual house. About a week.
